Hey Ya'll!

Hi All! Hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas holiday! I managed to get a little stamping done and this card was one that I actually finished. I used my little Cowboy Ian from The Greeting Farm. When I finished the card I decided he needed a little something so I added some Shimmerz Blingz in Spiced Cider to his hat. Then I applied the paint on the chipboard stars that I had covered with Cosmo Cricket patterned paper. I took a close up shot so you can see how sparkly it turned out. I really like how it turned out. Anywho, that's all from me today but I'll be back with some more Shimmerz cards later :)

Masking with Shimmerz!

Not too long ago, I got my hands on this darling Lizzie Anne Designs stamp and this week I got some time to finally break it in! When I first saw it, I just knew this little image was perfect fit for Shimmerz! Those snowmen needed to glisten -- right?

Well, I wanted to play with my Shimmerz paints in a new way! I stamped the Lizzie Anne Designs snowmen and then used an Impression Obsession Accent Template that I set over the group and sponged some Sky Blue Shimmerz around the edges and then accented it with some Cloudy Blue Ranger ink. It's a very subtle sparkle but it actually helps it look like it's snowing on the little snow guys!
Here's a close up! You can see I added a little snowflake stamp too! Color the snow guys with some markers and then, of course, add some Angel Wings Shimmerz to their bodies to make them sparkle! Mat it up and add a silver ribbon, felt flake and some bling and you are done! Voila!

It was a super easy card dressed up with Shimmerz in a kind of different way! Enjoy your weekend!

Warm Holiday Shimmerz!

First of all, please forgive my not-so-perfect pictures! I had a not-so-good time with my camera, the lighting, the angle and the photo editing program!


We built our first fire of the winter in the fireplace just this past weekend and it felt so warm and cozy and it inspired this card! As easy as it is to just turn up the thermostat, nothing feels as good as wood heat!

The sentiment and main image come from the Lizzie Anne Designs – Rockin-Holiday stamp set, and was colored with Prismacolor pencils and odorless mineral spirits.

I used Angel Wings Shimmerz for the Angel (of course!) and a combination of Pumpkin and Sunflower Shimmerz for the fire. I also painted the white Prima flower with Angel Wings and I used a dark red craft ink for the red flower, then painted Angel Wings Shimmerz over it once it dried.

I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday Season and try to stay warm (or dry if you are on the Oregon Coast!!)!

Jody Morrow Anna Mae Treat Box

The Shimmerz and the Blingz totally make this little treat box special. The Wintergreen Blingz is the perfect accent for her little bow and frills on her dress. This cute little box is held closed with Basic Grey Snap Magnets. You can find a tutorial on my blog here. Jody Morrow designed the box and it's one of my favorites! Very easy to make and even easier to decorate and make pretty with Shimmerz and Blingz. :)

Hanna Sneak Peak

I LOVE this new set coming out by Hanna Stamps! It's called Slumber Party... and if you have girls, it's a must! My little Averie had her first sleepover a few weeks ago and boy did she have a blast! I think this will be the perfect thank you note to send. :)

I had a hard time getting the card to stand up for a photo because the front flap is scalloped... sorry about that.

She's got Shimmerz on her headband (I finally used my Royal Purple... it was feeling neglected), and the lovely Pink Poinsettia Pink Blingz on her slippers, the pillow tassels, and the flowers on her shorts. Now that I think about it, I think I'll add a tiny bit more Shimmerz. Maybe a dab of Angel wings to her teeth. Man, I hate it when I think of things to add AFTER I take the photo.

Here's a little better photo of the shine and shimmer. I paper pieced the pillow, then used a kraft knife to cut around her and slipped it under her.

It's time to CELEBRATE!

First, a little Thanksgiving bird for everyone celebrating Thanksgiving here in the states and those serving and/or living abroad. For this card, since the focal image is stamped on patterned paper, I decided to use white cardstock the for the scalloped layer. I painted the scallops and the outer 1/4" of the oval with Angel Wings Shimmerz. (No need to cover the whole oval since only the little scallops are showing.) That sparkly layer REALLY pops!
