Amazing - A layout with Karine

Hi there,

Karine here today to share another layout using tons of yummy Shimmerz Paints products.

Here it is.

I started out with a plain white cardstock on which I glued some Tim Holtz tissue paper. I then applied a thin coat of white gesso and modelling paste through a Prima stencil. Next come my favorite part: the colors. I went with a yellow and grey color combo this time. I used Spritz in Tuscan sun and Truffle as well as Vibez in Sunset Strip to color my white background.

Some random stamping in black Archival ink to add texture...

For my chipboard, I wanted to create the look of liquid metal, or something similar. I started out with a coat of Creameez in Ride the Tide, to give a nice blue undertone... On top of it, I stamped with Versamark ink and added embossing powder. To make it match with the rest of the layout, I misted it with my Spritz in Truffle. I LOVE the result!

Sweet Pink Altered Wodden Peg

Hi Shimmerz Peeps,

Katie here sharing another altered project; a big wooden peg...

I bought this peg (not the largest I can find) at one of my local craft store and I've been thinking of doing one many years ago and never attempted one... Finally I attempted and this is what I've created... Added some flourish texture over the peg and blend the colours to give a vintage shabby look... Though the flowers are off-white, I just altered all of them to make them blend together...

This peg will be one piece that I'm going to use it to hold some of my cards or photos...

Hope this has been an inspiration...

Shimmerz product used:
  • Inklingz (Pink-a-Boo, Tarnished Treasure, Misty Morning)
  • Creameez (Berry Hot, Marshmallow)
  • Spritz (Cotton Candy)
  • Vibez (Sweet Heart)
Simply mention my name (Katie Zoey Ho) under "INSTRUCTIONS TO MERCHANT" during checkout to receive a FREE jar of Inklingz...

A Mono Tonez Mix with Missy

Happy Wednesday, Shimmerz fans!  Missy here.  I'm really excited to share my new layout with you today.  It features the new Mono Tonez collection, which is comprised of silver and grey colors.  I've had this hard-to-scrap photo for a while sitting on my desk.  The lighting in the photo created lots of pinkish & purple shades, and it's just really hard to find any papers and embellishments that match purple.  So I decided to create this background to contrast those difficult colors.

I used a Hero Arts stencil and created a two-toned background with Dazzlerz (Foiled Again) and Texturez (Gritty Graphite).  Next, I added some Creameez (Thunderstorm) and Inklingz (No One's Chrome) and used them like watercolor.  I also added in some beautiful aquas with Shimmerz (Tickle Me Turquoise) and Creameez (Ride the Tide).  The paint splatters are Vibez (Taupe of the Mornin') and Spritz (Taupe of the World).  All of these silvers and aquas meshed so well together!

Here's a look at the bottom cluster.  I used Creameez and Shimmerz to create more of a watercolor effect here.  For me, dabbing it with a paper towel really helps to create multiple tones.  I just layered some Echo Park paper and stickers along with some washi tape, thread and a flair button on top of the color.

The texture created by the Dazzlerz is just awesome...and it's so shiny!  I used the silver Creameez to color that film strip sticker...it was white.  Love how it turned out!

Here you can see the Texturez...and they do just that....create TEXTURE!  I love the grittiness of it.  I layered my papers right on top and added in my title to the side.

One more look at the beautiful Texturez and the Shimmerz & Creameez on top of it.  These products all work so well together...I just can't get enough of them!

I hope this inspires you to give the Tonez a try...there are several color schemes to play with.  And if you have a hard-to-scrap photo, try creating your own customized background.  This worked really well for me, and I love how all the Shimmerz products came together to make the photo pop!

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Products Used:

They were used with the New Mono Tonez!  (Love these!)

anyway....Heres the Layout.

Side A.

and Side B

I tell you what....I found it so very easy this time, as all the hard stuff was already done.
I had made a set of co-ordinating cards, and kept all the off cuts for punching and labels or tags.
It worked great.
I will do this again

Mixed Media Shimmery Scrapbooking Inspiration with Amy Prior

Hi everyone!!!  Amy Prior back with you all again today to share another 3 scrapbook layouts that I have created recently using lots of gorgeous Shimmerz paint products. Don't forget that you can purchase Shimmerz products direct by checking out our retail store here. If you are super inspired by my projects, feel free to use my name in the comments to merchant section when checking out using Paypal and you will receive a free gift with your order woohoo!

First up I have a scrapbook page to share with you with a very beachy theme. For this layout, I have started off with a white cardstock background that I have added some Shimmerz Gold Texturez paint using a fabulous Sunrays stencil. Once this was dry, I have used the gorgeous new Shimmerz Gold Tonez collection paints to add some gorgeous gold colour to my background. To create this effect, I have simply adding lots of sprays of water, followed by some sprays of the Egg Noggin & Glorious Day Vibez sprays, then some dribbles and drops of the Get Glowing Creameez & Miner Miner 49er Inklingz. These tonez colours just work so beautifully with each other to create added texture and illusion of more depth and shadow.

Next I have added some of the Shimmerz Ocean Tonez paint to some corrugated cardstock as well as some dribbles on my background. I waited for the gold to be completely dry before dribbling the blue paints as I did not want them to have a chance to mix and make green. Sometimes I just love when colours mix and create new colours but for this layout I just wanted to focus on the blues and gold colours to really bring that beachy feel to the layout.
The frame around the photograph is chipboard from Dusty Attic here in Australia and I have simply painted that with a good coating of the Miner Miner 49er Inklingz.

Here I have a very soft and delicate pastel layout to share using lots of gorgeous Shimmerz paints again but this time alongside some beautiful Prima Marketing papers and embellishments as well as Blue Fern Studios Chipboard. To start off this layout, the background was already very pretty and textured looking so I did not want to take away from the gorgeous design too much so I decided to simply smear some Shimmerz Dazzlerz in Tutti Frutti, Barely Blue & Patina over the background where I knew I was going to be placing my elements.

I have scraped these colours all at the same time and while they were still wet, I have sprinkled some gorgeous delicate little sequins over the top so I didn't have to worry about gluing them later on.
Next up I have painted the Blue Fern Studios frame using some Shimmerz Tidy Widy Texturez Paint. Ooh I just love the texture of the texturez paints they are just so fun to work with and still have that gorgeous  shimmery shine.

Finally I have a bright and bold layout created on a plain back surface again using lots of gorgeous Shimmerz paint products. For the background, I have added some Shimmerz Dazzlerz in Grape-Tastic using a sunbeam stencil and again I have added some sequins sprinkled over the top before the paint dried so that I didn't have to worry about gluing these later.

When the purple starburst was dry, I have added some more stencilling using some Shimmerz Texturez, this time in The Tide that Binds colour. This stencilling I have just done randomly all over the place but the main element of the stencil I have just kept in the 1 corner where I knew my photo was going to be placed. Lots of gorgeous bright elements on this layout using some of my all time favourite colours.

Thanks so much for stopping by and until next time, happy scrapping!

I started out with an Ombre Dream paper (Blue Fern Studios). After a coat of clear gesso, I added color to match my picture. I used Vibez in Grape Escape, Princess and Hermit the Frog.

After that, I added Texturez in Tidy Widy through a TCW stencil. The finishing touches were added with random stamping in black Archival ink.
